Willsons Printers Newark and Grimsby have total mirror of equipment in the following areas.

Solutions
To cover for the above equipment during failure, Willsons have taken out maintenance agreements on all the key pieces of equipment.

Apart from the large format cylinder, used for cutting and creasing ( as this was felt to be easily replaced or the work that this machine does placed elsewhere very economically).

This also applies to the Label press, as Grimsby have two machines and the maintenance was greater than their worth. Plus the machines can be replaced easily.

Willsons have also entered into agreements with locally based printers with similar FAILSAFES. This is to cover for longer-term problems such as fire.

Stock Replacement
Willsons Printers Newark (Primary Site)
60% of stock held at Willsons is unprinted paper. Bought in bulk for customers (for cost savings). This can be easily replaced, in most cases next day. The only issue being it would be more expensive (this would be covered by Willsons insurance).

The remaining 40% of printed stock, could be replaced with in 2 to 4 weeks. Although, as it is stock most would not be required within that time. Again the stock is fully insured.

Willsons Printers Newark (Distribution Site)
Again although this site stores mostly customer finished stock, it could be replaced in 2 to 4 weeks. The stock at this site is also fully insured.

Willsons Printers Grimsby (Secondary Site)
The Grimsby site is again very much the same as Newark, except for two areas.

Grimsby produces on demand special labels for a local frozen food company, using a difficult & time consuming to produce stock. To prevent a break in supply stock is also stored at Newark.

Grimsby is also the second largest supplier of frozen fish boxes, imported from Europe and South America. To prevent a break in supply boxes are also stored at second sites.

Computer Failure
Hardware Replacement
The replacement of 90% of Willsons computer hardware can be sourced with in 7 days (fully insured).

Software Replacement
This should not be required as all programmes are backed up and held off site.However most software used by Willsons could be sourced with in 24 hours.

Data Back Up
All data on Willsons servers is backed up and stored off site. However it has been noted that it would take up to a week to rebuild the systems and that a maximum of 2 days data could be lost due to timing of any incident. This was felt to be an acceptable risk.

Lead Times Replacement Equipment
• Presses. 6 to 12 months for new equipment.
  Some second hand equipment could be in place
  within one month (temporary replacement)
• Guillotines. 3 to 6 months for new equipment.
  Second hand 1 to 2 weeks (temporary replacement)
• Finishing Equipment. Most equipment available
  within 3 months.
• Origination Equipment. Most equipment available
  within 2 months, except plate setter which is 6
  to 8 months. Second hand equipment not available.
• Digital Colour. Replacement equipment 6 to 9 months.
  Second hand equipment not available.
• Black and White Digital. Replacement equipment 3 to
  6 months. Second hand equipment not available.

Building Replacement
As at 1/06/2002 there were available 7 factory sites for immediate occupation in Newark. In Grimsby there were available in excess of 20 sites for immediate occupation. However these would be for temporary use. A new factory would be expected to be built with in 1 year (Willsons insurance is for full replacement with new).

Conclusion
Willsons has natural disaster coverage in having two sites. This has however now been supplemented by arrangements to cover areas not duplicated from factory to factory.

Willsons also now has the frame work to work with other suppliers to cover almost all disaster situations, that may occur to Willsons.
